One of the biggest offseason storylines to follow in the Shedeur Sanders, who could have the upper hand after the team’s recent mini-camp.
Shedeur Sanders Completing 77% Of es In Mini-Camp
Any offseason and practice numbers should be taken with a grain of salt. There is no telling how much effort defensive players are putting in, and just how inflated (or deflated) quarterback numbers are during training sessions. But based on information released by ESPN Cleveland, there hasn’t been a better signal caller than Sanders in his limited time on the practice field.
Combining his numbers from both OTAs and mini-camp, Shedeur Sanders has completed 41 of his 53 es (77.4%), and has thrown 9 touchdowns against just one interception.

The accuracy figure is easily the best among him, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, and the touchdown number is better than all of them as well. Sanders, however, is apparently the only one of the bunch that has thrown an interception.
Browns Have A Log Jam At QB Position
Regardless of how legit the practice session numbers are, the positivity is a good sign for Sanders. After being projected as a first round selection and widely regarded as the second-best quarterback in the 2025 Draft class, the Colorado product endured a free fall, and was mercifully selected by the Browns in the 5th round (144th overall).
The situation was full of questionable decisions by Cleveland, who now have five QBs on the roster if you include the injured and embattled Deshaun Watson. One of those throwers is Gabriel, who the team picked 50 spots ahead of Sanders in the 3rd round.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski has said that all four players will have a shot at the starting spot, which likely won’t be decided until well into training camp.
